The Forest Elves

Tilda

Tilda, the original forest elf is a Swedish Vallhund that we rescued from a closing kennel in British Columbia in 2007. She is a bit of a wild thing as she spent her first 9 months with very little human contact in a rural setting with only a small pack of other dogs for comfort. Fast forward 12 years and after spending most of her adult life in the city she now resides in a wooded 2 ¼ acre parcel in Port Townsend. To say she is finally at ease and completely at home is an understatement! Tilda’s favorite thing to do is race and race and race and then dig a nice little hole under some brush and keep an eye on the wild world around her. She is a natural working dog, protective of her pack and is a reminder of the restorative qualities of the natural world. She is our inspiration at Forest Elf Farm.

Arvid & Uschi

Arvid and Uschi, also Swedish Vallhunds, are siblings from separate litters that were born just a mile from our original home in Seattle. They are loyal, affectionate family members and love nothing more than to run around with the pack on the farm, browsing wild greens and picking up the scents of native fauna. Arvid is a cuddle monster while Uschi is a force of nature. Whatever Uschi wants, Uschi gets!

Aacke

Aacke is our elder patriarch. He’s the father of both Arvid and Uschi and has come to live with us only very recently. As a Vallhund of 16, he delights in letting the other youngsters run wild while he prefers to stay close and keep tabs on Amy in the field. We are honored that he is spending his final years with us in the small paradise that is Forest Elf Farm.
